Our website needs to house content in different languages, and we find it very difficult for navigation to be smooth, and difficult to manage the navigation in all the different languages.
That's what we would like to see:
1) Enabling an easy way to connect site pages and landing pages that have the same content but of a different language. When a page is created in English, then the same page should be automatically created in the other languages in the COS with the same settings and the same navigation options. However the page will not be published as long as the content has not been created in the appropriate language. I don't know if you know Buuteeq (a CMS for hotels), but this is something they do very well.
2) Special characters need to appear like their real format and not in code. We will want to create our site in German, Thai and maybe mandarin real soon.
3) Forms should also have the possibility to be multi-language; i.e. create the form in English, and then the form will be created in multiple language right away.
4) Possibility of tracking the language preferences of prospects and leads so we can nurture them in their native language. It would be even better if the language of the COS could be automatically set depending on the language preferences of the browser of the visitor.
That's all for the moment, but this is very important for us, as our markets are international visitors who prefer to read information about the country they visit in their native language.

Global growth and language management needs to be a priority if we as customers actively shall recommend Hubspot as a state-of-the-art-system and as a partner. The fact that you do not have language support and with it lose functionality of the plattform is not a good user experience för us Swedes.
So we would like to see Swedish as the language of your CMS. When can that happend?

Almost all of our clients in Belgium need a multi-language site. HubSpot is not an option until now. We are building all sites using WordPress and Drupal. HubSpot you need to speed up this feature if you want to conquer Europe. We have a lot of languages.

For me, the best way to implement multi-language within the COS would be to leverage the smart content feature on the editing side and have multiple linked pages on the end user side. You could basically choose a "language rule" that would impact the URL, templates, forms and content of the page and create two (or more) pages on the site that are linked.
Any thoughts on how to implement that features?
Very important as HubSpot expands (and also for us, expanded already)

This is something we are actively looking into. Essentially, what I take away from this idea are a couple things: 1) Better in-app experience and functionality for users creating non-English content. 2) Develop some sort of management system within the COS to help deal with multi-language sites. For #1, this is something we are constantly tweaking and improving. I think since February, we've made some great strides in this area, but please keep the suggestions coming. For #2, this requires a bit more development effort, but we have it on our radar and understand the growing need to support multi-language content management and translation. We're hoping to have more on this as the year progresses.

I've been wanting this for ages...
At the moment we use smart content to display in various languages. Which seems to work fine, but my main issue is tracking of the multi-page.
At the end of the day it is only one landing page, so the stats are very limited.

I raised another suggestion today to do with hreflang - which is very much related to this post but I didn't find it beforehand.
This will need inclusion to keep things maintainable:
We need this asap, most of the time we are making multilingual sites with a language switch block. We just switching from CMS to COS and we want to make our site also in Dutch. We couldn't find any suggestion or tutorial how to even make a multilingual site.

We have a mid-sized global client whose current site is english, german and chinese. For 2015 they'd like to consider rebuilding their website and we'd like to build it in HubSpot COS. This client is not interested in machine translations due to technical content. We'd like to add that translation review, edit, and validation tracking capabilities be added to the requirements list. Keeping track of what changes are made to the website and the ability to export and import changed content (to send to translation firms) is required too.

We need these multi-language capabilities in the COS. We are creating websites and content in multiple European languages.
We need this, too. We have a client website we're building right now where we want to be able to add a Japanese language menu tab leading to some pages in Japanese.

Thank you Chris to bring up this matter. We can be added to the list of clients that begs for this urgent-need feature. In Europe companies want to talk to their neighbourgs in their languages and this means 3-4 languages used for each project and its really hard in the way it has to be done now. This features would make us more cost and time effective in the developing process.
Thank you for illustrating the idea, which is really what we'd need for our website (that is going to have 3 languages too). To triplicate all the website in HubSpot sounds like a nightmare... And yes: at this point, also the landing pages controller has to be improved - allowing to organize/group them in a more immediate and visual way... Challenging task, it could be really a huge step ahead :)
