If You Build It, We'll Stop Asking for Reports
Instead of HubSpot just developing more reports, develop a tool that allows users to build their own reports from any data in HubSpot.
Drilling down to specifics is good, but I also want to see the big picture of what's performing for various audiences, messages, and channels.
Report functions would include: filter by field, conditions, match any/all, timeframes, layout options, click/drag-n-drop (data from social, email, etc.), graph/chart/number/text settings (e.g., add static text such as labels), sort/re-order/show/don't show specific data, clone/save/email/export.
This month we launched the Reporting Add-on, which includes customizable report dashboards, new report templates, and a custom report builder.
These features give you the ability to build reports on Contacts, Companies, Deals, and Engagements data. The custom report builder also gives you flexibility to segment data, view results from various timeframes, measure progress against a goal, and create customized conversion funnels for contacts and deals.
You can save your favorite reports to personalized dashboards where you can organize the metrics that are most important for you & your team.

In general it is important to put tools in the hands of users to allow them to make your product do exactly what they want. Hubspot CRM for example cannot be customised in terms of screen layout or reports.
If you don't give customisation options you will constantly be trying to satisfy the loudest user requests and leaving most users frustrated. You want businesses to have Hubspot CRM totally integrated at the heart of their everyday activity, but to do this you must enable them to adapt the CRM to their business, not the other way around.
We need customizable view layouts (Contacts, Deals, Tasks, etc) - change field sizes, positioning, box colours, spacing. We need the ability to produce a report of selected fields with a defined multi-field filter and sort.
All within the basic (free) Hubspot CRM.
I am going over the reports tool quite a bit these days and a major issue I have with it is the display of statistical data, but no insight into statistical measures. If there is no variance or p values given, then the output of the insights must be questioned aka exported to excel, the underlying data cleaned up of outliers and only then can the reporting begin again. Would love to see the ability to clean up data in Hubspot if needed and some statistical measurements for validity purposes! :) Overall, great first step, especially on the sales side!!
When I voted for this, I wasn't expecting to have to buy an extra add-on. That's underwhelming.

...and make them shareable. I'd love to embed some key reports on our intranet but I'd settle for an email that doesn't just prompt the recipient to log in to Hubspot.
This would be my dream tool.

It would be terrific if you could produce a powerpoint monthly report for social reports like you have created for the monthly marketing performance report

I completely agree. Reports should be more comprehensive and customizable. The data is there. All that is lacking is a feature or API to actually create reports that the HubSpot user really wants. This is a must.

The Hubspot platform is fabulous but I agree without visibility into our effectiveness, strategy and planning becomes a challenge.
What a shock...this basic functionality isn't offer to your professional users you have to add over $10K to get a report which should have been one of the first thing HubSpot did.
I have to say that the poor quality of the reports is what causing me to think of moving over to your competitors.

It's great news that you guys are working on reports! I sure hope this new development includes the ability to see Page Rank (SEO ranking) under Page Performance with Views. I'd like to see all my webpages and Views ALONG with Rank (like you see under Keyword report)...crossing fingers for your progress!
We are an enterprise customer but unfortunately the Contacts Report certainly doesn't allow us to look at the data as we need to look at it to support our business. I fully support the original request -- PLEASE develop a tool that allows users to build their own reports from any data in HubSpot.

Why such basic functionality is offered only for enterprise customers?
All your competitors including Market and Pardot have it and at least Pardot have also integration with GoodData which give you quite a lot of flexibility, all in their basic tier

Based on the responses here I am hoping to help. We have a beta implementation of an integration with Hubspot for customized reporting possibilities and are looking for people interested to give it a try before we release it publicly. I figured people looking at this post would hopefully be interested to give it a try? It allows you to directly import your Hubspot data and do many of the things I think people are looking to do based on your responses (various filters, different time groupings, various chart formats, sorting, cohort analysis, etc.). Haven't read all the comments below but read some and am totally in the same page. We are lacking may reporting features.
What about exporting the view under Campaigns? Would already be a good start.

We need to target different regions with different teams and different messages. We can apply country and region settings to contacts but we can't easily see the success rate of campaigns and pass them the relevant sales people if we cant report by country / region. Reports such as these should be simple to do from a database such as yours. I shouldn't really have to pay for a Professional subscription for such a feature either.

Is this customizable report available beyond Enterprise yet?
I would like to be able to build a high-level report with information from all of my campaigns, such as name of campaign, visits, contacts and customers, so I can quickly scan outcomes of all of my campaigns at once.

I am very much a fan of the way KISSmetrics does reporting and would LOVE to see those kind of capabilities in HubSpot, especially considerings it would be automatically integrated with all the other tools like email, landing pages, etc.
In particular i'd like to see:
**Better events reporting**
Since HubSpot tracks every interaction a person has with you, from emails opened to pages visited i'd love the ability to be able to cross-reference these interactions more. KISSmetrics has a lovely dashboard that allows you to create 'key metrics' which could be any of the following:
1. total number of people who have done 'event'
2. total times event happened
3. Average number of times event happened per person
4. Conversion rate between two events
5. Time between two events happening
It also allows you to segment this event by any property we know about the person, such as country, buyer persona, referring site, source, etc.
The funnel report allows me to create customised funnels based on events/actions being recorded. For instance, an eCommerce store can create a funnel that shows how many people did the following events: Viewed Product Page - Viewed 1st Page Cart - Viewed 2nd Page Cart - Viewed Completed Purchase Page. By also showing the conversion rate between each event, it allows me to identify where the biggest blockage points in my funnel are and go about addressing them.
It would also be great if HubSpot could integrate a dedicated revenue field with associated reports. Revenue could be pulled either through CRM integration or via API and the be attributed back in the sources reports, contact reports as well as having its own reports.
The problem is without revenue my sources reports could be showing me that Search brought me 500 customers and blogging brought me 100. However what if those 500 customers from search only generated me $1000 in revenue where as the 100 from blogging brought me $10,000 in revenue.
Without revenue data, i'd focus my efforts on Search where as the bigger opportunity is in Blogging.

REPORTING SHOULD BE A KEY ITEM THAT YA'LL FOCUS ON ASAP!!! This is very crucial to any job function. This is what everyone is looking for! Which is to show accountability for what they are working on in Marketing such as what is working or not & based on the reports what are we going to do with it if it isn't. The reports that we already get emailed to us should be reports saved in our reports area, so we can use & customize how we want or need them for our meetings. Basically,any reports that ya'll use to for Hubspot or any other clients such as daily, weekly, monthly, yearly reports should be evaluated & made standard as soon as you become a Hubspot Customer. It seems like everything else we have templates to pick from, but it would be nice to have standard reports saved in our Reports tab also. Also my consultant did a GAP Analysis it took me saying I was going to cancel my service for someone to help analyze & help. This also would be a good tool to have or analyze for us quarterly. Example Reporting Need: Marketing Reports= Traffic Snapshot for the Year (month, total montly visits, organic traffic, ppc traffic, how much spending google/bing CPC), Website traffic by city, Year to date Marketing Summary, Monthly Marketing Summary, Visits Monthly Trend, Leads Monthly Trend, Organic vs Paid Search Traffic, Lead Sources by most used CTA/Landing Page, Top 10 referring sources generating traffic. These are just some that we should be able to do or make in different types of formats. Matrix type, bar or graph & etc. SALES REPORTS= Leads that converted into Customers, Prospects daily/weekly right now i use ProspectsMax
