I suggest you ...

multi-Language

Our website needs to house content in different languages, and we find it very difficult for navigation to be smooth, and difficult to manage the navigation in all the different languages.

That's what we would like to see:

1) Enabling an easy way to connect site pages and landing pages that have the same content but of a different language. When a page is created in English, then the same page should be automatically created in the other languages in the COS with the same settings and the same navigation options. However the page will not be published as long as the content has not been created in the appropriate language. I don't know if you know Buuteeq (a CMS for hotels), but this is something they do very well.

2) Special characters need to appear like their real format and not in code. We will want to create our site in German, Thai and maybe mandarin real soon.

3) Forms should also have the possibility to be multi-language; i.e. create the form in English, and then the form will be created in multiple language right away.

4) Possibility of tracking the language preferences of prospects and leads so we can nurture them in their native language. It would be even better if the language of the COS could be automatically set depending on the language preferences of the browser of the visitor.

That's all for the moment, but this is very important for us, as our markets are international visitors who prefer to read information about the country they visit in their native language.

Thanks

We really need multilingual functionality of Hubspot as soon as possible. Please advise.

Yes to localization support! We have an English site - oursite.com - and we want to add multiple languages - oursite.com/fr, oursite.com/es, etc.
Currently, we export our site's COS pages, send them to an offsite company who translates the content right in the HTML files, and they send the HTML files back to us. It would be nice if we could just import those pages back to our site (I was told the only way to import would be each page as its own template, which is not ideal - our site uses only 2 templates).
Otherwise, the other option is to clone the English pages, and go into each module to copy in the translated content.

        Thanks for the update, Robert.

One more thing where we need multi-language is the privacy setting where we enable the cookies message. We have two languages in a few portals but this message is only available to one language. So we have Dutch and French here, usually we leave it in English as a workaround but It's not really ideal.

But I assume when the database structure is adjusted, all these things will be possible.

Hi Dominique, thanks for the direct feedback. The ability to organize and tie multi-language content together is most certainly the core of the problem to be solved here and creating a more efficient way for users to create multi-language content is only one part of that solution. We are and have been continuously working to create a better and more connected content structure that can be leveraged by multi-language users, so that piece has been in development and will continue.

I'm in 100% agreement that the largest part of the iceberg is the database structure & UI piece and it is a top priority to bring this request to completion and we haven't stopped working on it. The translation management connectors were just the last bit that hadn't been started and kept me from changing the status on this request. Sorry my note in the update didn't refer to the work we're continuing to do on the backend side of things. It is certainly a primary focus for us for myriad reasons even outside this request.

        More updates to come.

I want to comment on the update "In development". HubSpot, this thread was not opened for making translations easier. No, you need to change your database structure and UI so we can offer hubspot portals in multiple languages in such a way that the languages are connected.

Of course translation management systems that integrate with hubspot are really nice but that certainly is not priority one.

I work for a HubSpot Gold partner. I'm being honest here with you: you are losing clients to Oracle. We partnered up with them to offer Eloqua as a solution.

We have built a few sites with more than one language in the COS and it is not ideal but there are a few things we just can't fix. The 404 and 500 error pages, we can only choose one for all languages. Same for the 3 pages you have to configure for email subscription management. And the last problem, you can't offer blog subscriptions because there is no way you can keep the blog article in a certain language separate. Or if anybody has a hack for this, please let me know. I got the question from one of our clients today.

That would help a lot, looking forward to get some news on that issue. Now it is difficult to maintain and organize for the group. (We have over 15 locale languages, reduced it to 5 at the moment, already heavy work. However, as you know, to have the content in locale language would be a great. To get some "brownie points" from our customers and make the content reachable easier is always a goal.)

We're responsible for creating Landing Pages and corresponding forms all across Europe.
Some kind of functionality to create variations of a single form/landing page like with the A/B functionality would be great. This way we could create one parent LP/form and then create variations as childs in different languages.

Our client has requested the current Hubspot run site to be in another language (Portuguese to be specific) for their market in Brazil. The editable content area used for Smart Content doesn't seem to be sufficient for the entire site to be a multilingual site. I was told by the Customer Support that Hubspot doesn't currently have straight solution besides having to clone the existing template pages and editing it manually for a different language site. It would be great to see that functionality implemented in the near future as the customer base is becoming more global.

Almost all of our clients in Belgium need a multi-language site. HubSpot is not an option until now. We are building all sites using WordPress and Drupal. HubSpot you need to speed up this feature if you want to conquer Europe. We have a lot of languages.

For me, the best way to implement multi-language within the COS would be to leverage the smart content feature on the editing side and have multiple linked pages on the end user side. You could basically choose a "language rule" that would impact the URL, templates, forms and content of the page and create two (or more) pages on the site that are linked.

Any thoughts on how to implement that features?

Very important as HubSpot expands (and also for us, expanded already)

This is something we are actively looking into. Essentially, what I take away from this idea are a couple things: 1) Better in-app experience and functionality for users creating non-English content. 2) Develop some sort of management system within the COS to help deal with multi-language sites. For #1, this is something we are constantly tweaking and improving. I think since February, we've made some great strides in this area, but please keep the suggestions coming. For #2, this requires a bit more development effort, but we have it on our radar and understand the growing need to support multi-language content management and translation. We're hoping to have more on this as the year progresses.

I've been wanting this for ages...

At the moment we use smart content to display in various languages. Which seems to work fine, but my main issue is tracking of the multi-page.

At the end of the day it is only one landing page, so the stats are very limited.

We need this asap, most of the time we are making multilingual sites with a language switch block. We just switching from CMS to COS and we want to make our site also in Dutch. We couldn't find any suggestion or tutorial how to even make a multilingual site.
